Founding an Association

General information

If you cannot find a suitable association from our vast list of associations, you can always form a new one. TKY promotes the variety of hobbies for its members and welcomes all new associations. However, we do not accept associations into our association list if they are overlapping with others or if they are practically inactive.

The association rules and regulations must be carefully drafted, most preferably according to the model association rules of TKY (Model_Association_Rules_of_TKY.pdf). The association must operate according to its rules and keep their finances carefully in order. The association must also abide to Finnish laws and, as much as possible, to common decency.

The founding of an association should be done as follows:

1. The association rules are drafted and a founding meeting is called.
2. The founding meeting convenes.
3. Another meeting is held where the rules and regulations are passed again.
4. The minutes, the founding document and a freeform application are submitted to the list of associations, which is kept by the Secretary of Organisational Affairs.
