Otaniemi has good opportunities for playing music. Options range from singin in a choir to electronic music.

Otaniemi has a male choir, Polyteknikkojen kuoro, and a mixed choir, Dominante.

Orchestral activities are also a part of the teekkari culture; Polyteknikkojen orkesteri is a full student symphony orchestra, consisting mainly of teekkaris, but also of other university students. You can also find the Swedish speaking student nations orchestra Humpsvakar and the wind instrument orchestra Retuperän WBK. For those who are interested in band related activities, there is an association called PELMU, a live music association for polytechnic students. PELMU has a band training facility in Otaniemi, which offers excellent surroundings for bands training with professional level equipment. PELMU also organizes small concerts, gigs and other events by itself or together with other association.

There are various music associations, which range all the way from jazz to heavy music, so everybody can find one that suits them the best.
