Teekkari history

The Polytechnic Archive has been located in Otaranta since 2006. It is the official archive of the TKY, and it functions as a terminal archive.

In addition to the official material of the Student Union, the archive also records a number of various documents and items related to teekkari history, traditions and everyday life. The archive also offers the guilds and associations storage space and advises in archiving.

Collections

The Polytechnic Archive comprises of three entities: document archive, wide and varying item collection and museum collection, which comprises of the current exhibition of the Polyteekkarimuseo museum. In addition to these, the archive also holds a photograph and record collections.

Donations

The archive is pleased to accept donations from private individuals and societies. The donated material can form, for instance, a donated collection from a certain person. The archive is especially pleased to accept items related to teekkari life, such as teekkari caps, various outfits, badges and ribbons, and memorabilia of various parties and occasions (invitations, dinner and placement cards etc.).

Opening hours

The Polytechnic Archive is open on agreement, also by nights and weekends if necessary. The usual visitation period is during weekdays from 1 to 4 pm.

The archive offers its users an opportunity to conduct research in private at the archive’s research space. The use of that space can occasionally affect a little the other uses of the archive.
