TKY

Study counselling

The TKK offers its students study counselling through various sources. The TKY, or the Student Union of the Helsinki University of Technology, also does its share in study counselling, but most of all, the TKY attempts to develop study counselling in such a way, that it would cover entire study paths and be readily available for students.

The TKY provides each exchange student with a student tutor to help them in the various practical issues. In the TKK, the responsibility to give study counselling often lies with faculty study counsellors or study planners. Teachers are also often participating in study counselling, and especially in the latter part of studies, the role of professors in giving study counselling might be substantial. Study counselling professionals are also working in TKK’s career and recruiting services.

Teacher tutoring

Students, who started their studies after the summer of 2005, have a right to a teacher tutor. Teacher tutoring is one of the TKK’s study counselling and support services. Teacher tutors are graduates working at TKK who can, for instance, help students in planning their studies and guide them in their study career.

Student Psychologist

Student psychologist counsels, guides and supports students with learning difficulties and motivational problems. If you have more general problems with psychological well-being you can also contact student psychologist by phone: 09-4514546 (phone time Tuesdays from12 to 13 o´clock) or by e-mail: studypsychologist(at)tkk.fi. The service is cost-free for the students.
